An Update

So I didn’t realize how long it’d been since I last wrote. Things have been going crazy here, not to mention I let my internet expire in the interest of saving money, and keeping active. I also realized that two days after my last post I posted another entry that sounded pretty downhearted, and I decided I’d write something that sounded more realistic, and not the ravings of somebody missing Thanksgiving and Christmas decorating.

Also, I don’t want to get too much into it on my blog, but I moved. I am still in the town of Keda, but I moved to my neighbor’s house. I moved about 3 nights ago and so far so good. I’m eating better, healthier, and more regularly; I’ve formed new friendships in my community; and am generally happier. You will never see me write anything negative about my last family, but I needed a different environment, and now that I have I’ve been a bit happier.

I might also be ecstatic about my departure tomorrow for a 10-day vacation in Egypt with my mother, father, both sisters, and brother-in-law. To be honest, it doesn’t quite seem like I’m leaving yet. It probably won’t feel real until I’ve landed in Cairo and see my family. Still, I’m looking forward to some much needed R&R.

Since school ended I’ve delved into books. I’ve finished the first 5 Harry Potter books and started (and am almost finished) the 6th one last night. What a great series, I started reading when I was in the 8th or 9th grade, but after the second book I stopped reading, not sure why. So most everything is a surprise, but too bad I know a lot of the story already. All sorts of things are different, and I’m really hooked into it. After I finish the series I’m going to start The Hobbit and the Lord of the Ring books.

I spent my Christmas in Tbilisi with some other volunteers, we had a great time, and pictures will be posted to Facebook soon. I hope all is well with all my readers.

  2. Tom, do you have the HP books here? If so...any chance I could borrow them, one by one? This is likely the only time in my life I'll have to read the thousands of pages written about Harry Potter. Let me know. :)
