About the Lyon
There's not a lot to say here. I am a 25 year old Peace Corps Volunteer serving in the country of Georgia. I have been in Georgia since April 2010. I live in a small town towards the western side of the country. I am short, but not too short. I am pretty pale, but that's only because I'm awesome and have type of albinism (no, no red eyes or white hair, sorry).
I grew up new Princeton, New Jersey. Famed for Princeton University, Dr. House, and the dreaded ETS. My dad used to take us on sabbatical, so by the time I was 18 I had already visited around 20 different countries and lived in 2 countries (one of them twice). Princeton is a pretty cool place if you've never been, and sorry to say, no New Jersey jokes make any sense in the Princeton area.
After high school I attended a fine institution higher education known as American University. In 4 years I had officially gone through these majors in order: History -> Biology - > American Studies -> Biology -> Psychology -> History. The whole ordeal really took a toll on my GPA, but I finally finished what I loved and got my degree in history and psychology. I decided that I'd like to be a high school history teacher, like the late Mr. Brian Welsh who I respected so much and was the reason I went into teaching.
Luckily I was accepted to The College of New Jersey to earn an MAT (Master of Arts in Teaching) in secondary education: social studies. I decided this was best for me at this point (I also anticipated the global economic collapse and decided not to look for a job yet). After a grueling full year of studies and some fun in the classroom I had a degree, a provisional teaching certificate (so I could get a job), but no job! The economy really sucked in 2009. I wandered around aimlessly, played enough Modern Warfare 2 to actually be considered decent (sad, I know), worked out a lot, and then did some work at a preschool.
By March 2010 I knew I was coming to Georgia in Peace Corps, I then left in April with 30 other crazy people. We spent 2 months in training (which SUCKED), and then went on to our sites, where I have been for the past 13 months. You can check out some of the projects I've done since I've been in Peace Corps at my project page. If you have questions, feel free to ask.
